About your therapist

Oak & Willow Counseling is owned by Ria Megnin (she/they), a licensed independent social worker based in Dayton, Ohio, with backgrounds in journalism, education, and social advocacy. Sessions with Ria involve guided discussion, education, skill-building, and at-home activities. The goal is to help you build a secure foundation for exploring trauma, abuse, and neglect, challenging shame-based stories, and healing your relationships with yourself and others. We go at your pace and center your identity (gender, race, health, faith, sexuality, career, family, etc.) and needs while working toward your long-term goals. We also offer referrals to appropriate providers for more specialized care as needed. Ria has lived experience in queerness, polyamory, generational trauma, D&D geekery, multiple religious and spiritual traditions, and progressive social justice work (especially racial and reproductive justice and abortion rights). Oak & Willow Counseling's home is The Well: A Center For Wellness, 529 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering.
